Missy has had over 25 years’ experience working with children and families in New York City. She currently practices Music Psychotherapy/Child Parent Psychotherapy at NewYork-Presbyterian Family PEACE Trauma Treatment Clinic where she provides mental health services to children ages birth to five years of age (0-5), and their primary caregivers, who have been exposed to various forms of trauma including violence and abuse. Missy received her Masters of Art in Music Therapy from New York University and holds an advanced training in Vibrational Medicine/Sound Therapy. Missy is also a Certified Educator of Infant Massage and she holds an advanced/professional certificate from Stella Adler Conservatory in Classical Acting. She specializes in attachment theory and employs a multi-modal approach to her practice. Her work is centered around Viola Spolin’s improvisational tenant of “Yes, And!”; acknowledging a client’s state of being in the moment while focusing upon expanding and enhancing their authentic self in the music and beyond.
